Professor Prof. Herman Aguinis

 

Prof. Herman Aguinis, IAS Distinguished Scholar for the academic year 2023/2024, is Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar, Professor of Management, and Chairperson at The George Washington University School of Business. He has been elected for the presidency track of the Academy of Management (AOM) and is serving as AOM Vice President & Program Chair, President-Elect, President, and Past President during 2019-2023.

 

Prof. Aguinis’s problem-focused and interdisciplinary research addresses the acquisition and deployment of talent and organizational research methods.          

 

Prof. Aguinis is a Fellow of the Academy of Management and Past President of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management. He is the recipient of the 2017 Losey Award by the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation for lifetime achievement in human resource research, the AOM Research Methods Division Distinguished Career Award for lifetime contributions (2012), and the AOM Practice Theme Committee Scholar Practice Impact Award for his impact on policy-making and managerial and organizational practices. He received seven best-article-of-the-year awards from the Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Organizational Behavior (twice), Academy of Management Perspectives, and Management Research.

 

The 2019 and 2018 Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers Reports ranked Prof. Aguinis among the world's 100 most impactful researchers in Economics and Business. He has published 165 journal articles (e.g., AMJ, AMR, JIBS, JOM, SMJ, ORM, JAP, PPsych) and nine books including Performance Management for Dummies (2019);  Performance Management (4th edition, 2019), Applied Psychology in Talent Management (8th edition, with Wayne F. Cascio, 2019), and Regression Analysis for Categorical Moderators.

 

Prof. Aguinis served as editor-in-chief of Organizational Research Methods and guest editor of the Journal of Management and Personnel Psychology. He has served or currently serves on the editorial board of 25 US-, France-, Spain-, South Africa-, and Brazil-based journals.

 

Prof. Aguinis’s research has been featured by media in North America, Latin America (e.g., Mexico, Argentina, Perú), and Europe including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Bloomberg Businessweek, USA Today, and many others.
