   How can mathematical ideas pedal their way into surprising patterns and structures?

 

The Institute of Advanced Studies is pleased to host Professor Sergei Tabachnikov as part of the IAS Distinguished Scholars framework.

 

Professor Tabachnikov will lead a concise course titled Flavors of Bicycle Mathematics, offering three focused lectures during March. The course will explore mathematical patterns, structures, and problems inspired by bicycle geometry, combining intuition, rigor, and hands-on insights.
