 MORE ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Prof. Jeremy Dauber is the Mendelson Family Professor of American Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Columbia University. He is also the Atran Professor of Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture and previously served as Director of Columbia University's Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies.

An internationally recognized scholar of Jewish literature, Yiddish culture, and American Jewish history, Prof. Dauber is the author of numerous acclaimed books, including Jewish Comedy: A Serious History, American Comics: A History, The Worlds of Sholem Aleichem, and Mel Brooks: Disobedient Jew. His research explores Jewish culture, literature, humor, and popular culture from a global and historical perspective.
