The IAS Outstanding Junior Fellows framework seeks to promote and support visits by a small number of truly exceptional young scientists across all academic disciplines. These scholars have already made substantial top-level contributions to research in their fields, clearly demonstrating that they are on the path to becoming world academic leaders.
Candidates are selected competitively by the IAS Board, based on the significance of their scientific contributions and the potential benefit to research at Tel Aviv University. Priority is given to areas where collaboration with existing University research groups is expected to be most valuable.
IAS Outstanding Junior Fellows may be invited for 2 weeks to 3 months, with visit dates coordinated with the Faculty host and the IAS office.
During their visit, Fellows are free to pursue their own research, collaborate with University colleagues, or participate in campus academic life in any way they choose. Many visitors give lectures in their area of expertise, which often become highlights of the visit, attended by academics from across Israel.
