IAS Fellow Olga Tokarczuk joins the American Academy of Arts and Letters

Nobel Laureate and Polish author Olga Tokarczuk has been elected an Honorary Foreign Member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters

At the public conversation with Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature and Sackler Fellow for the academic year 2022/2023 Olga Tokarczuk, 23.4.23, Beit Ariela, Tel Aviv-Jaffa.

Eminent Polish writer, essayist, poet, screenwriter and the Laureate of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature Olga Tokarczuk, has been elected this year (2024) an Honorary Foreign Member of the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Letters. Membership in the Academy is among the highest recognitions of artistic merit in the United States and is limited to only 75 Foreign Honorary members—architects, artists, composers, and writers from outside the United States.

 

Sackler Fellow for the academic year 2022/2023, Olga Tokarczuk was bestowed an honorary degree by the University of Tel Aviv in 2023 in recognition of her accomplishments as a world-renowned author and social activist.

 

The Mortimer and Raymond Sackler Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) offers its warmest congratulations to Olga Tokarczuk, on joining this prestigious society.
