Academic year 2023/2024 set to begin on December 31, 2023
Israel's research universities have reached the decision to start the academic year 2023/2024 on December 31, 2023.
The academic year for Israel’s universities is currently set to begin on December 31, 2023. The decision by all of Israel's research universities to start the academic year on this date was made after prolonged deliberation, careful examination of alternatives, and consultations with state authorities and the security system.
The University is aware that many TAU students will continue to serve in the IDF and security forces, in regular and reserve duty, even after the opening of the academic year, and it is committed to doing everything in its power to enable them to complete it.
The first semester will be shortened to 11 weeks and will begin on December 31, 2023, until March 15, 2024.
The second semester will be 11 weeks of studies as well, between May 26, 2024, to August 12, 2024.
