Prof. Jonathan Rosner

Prof. Jonathan Rosner, Guest Lecturer at the Emilio Segre Distinguished Lectures in Physics Endowed by Raymond and Beverly Sackler for the academic year 2014/2015, is a Professor Emeritus in the Physics Department and the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago and a member of the Particle Theory Group there. He is also a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

 

Prof. Rosner earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University and was appointed Professor at the University of Minnesota. Since 1982 he was a Professor at the University of Chicago, and as of July 2011, he is Professor Emeritus there. Alongside his teaching responsibilities, he has been a member of numerous reviewing committees for High Energy Physics programs. In 2013, he served as Chair of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society, at which he had taken part in planning the "Snowmass on the Mississippi" program for the US high energy physics community.

 

He was a Fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan Research. and a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellow. His research interest includes quantum field theory, elementary particle physics, quantum mechanics and flavor physics.
