Introductory Lecture: "Introduction to Group Theory"

Abstract:

We give an introduction to group theory from the perspective of application to science and engineering. Our focus is on orthogonal and unitary groups as they arise in numerous scientific problems. We will present naturally occurring examples of both finite and infinite groups.
