The IAS Fulbright–TAU Senior Scholars Fellowship is a prestigious joint initiative between Fulbright and Tel Aviv University, designed to support senior American faculty members who wish to spend a semester conducting research and/or teaching at TAU.
Applications are submitted directly through Fulbright USA. Selected candidates are chosen by the IAS Academic Board from a shortlist prepared by the United States–Israel Educational Foundation (USIEF).
In addition to academic excellence, the program fosters lasting connections between the United States and Israel by promoting cross-cultural dialogue, scholarly exchange, and international collaboration.
The fellowship is open to senior scholars across all academic disciplines and provides a four-month residency at Tel Aviv University. Fellows are encouraged to pursue their primary academic projects while also contributing to the broader University community through public lectures, mentoring students, and engagement with faculty and peers.
The Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) serves as the official host and primary point of contact for the fellow during their stay. The hosting academic unit within TAU is responsible for providing office and/or laboratory space, as appropriate to the scholar’s field of expertise.
